Robert Haines Wins SEISO Giveaway; Donates $1200 to Memorial Chair Fund

We are proud to announce the winner of our 2023 Season Finale Giveaway - Robert Haines of Burlington! Robert was randomly selected amongst hundreds of concertgoers who participated during the SEISO Season Finale, April 22-23, 2023. Thank you to all who attended the concert and participated in the giveaway.

We are honored to announce that Robert has generously donated the money back to SEISO to jumpstart the Donna Nelson Principal Chair Fund. Donna Nelson was SEISO’s principal cellist for over 2 decades. She was a selfless and caring musician who was a lynchpin for music organizations across the region; regularly traveling to Ottumwa, Quincy, Burlington, Washington, and Mt. Pleasant for concerts, funerals, chamber music performances, recitals, weddings. Donna passed away in April, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

She would frequently come to a rehearsal directly from a chemotherapy treatment and all of us would marvel at her dedication and question “would we do the same or just give up”?
- Robert McConnell, Music Director & Conductor, SEISO
